Bridging Literacy & Belonging - A Re-Imagined School Focus

The following charts show results from the Belonging Survey, reading/writing assessment, and a comparison of primary reading assessment data. 

We wonder: 

  • What is the connection between student engagement, learning, and a sense of belonging? 
  • How might students' literacy competencies lead to a sense of belonging at school? 
  • What is the role of adults in influencing student learning and engagement? 
  • How might we nurture students' sense of belonging through connected learning experiences and intentional planning for instruction? 

Based on the data collected, our refined/re-imagined School Learning Story focus will be: increasing engagement in learning and deepening thinking through connected literacy experiences
