Our Learning Post #1

For our professional day on Friday, Nov. 22^nd staff reviewed the data collected from last year and we have shifted the focus for our school goal.

Our focus this year is:

How does noticing, naming and nurturing the core competencies enhance our students’ understanding of their own learning?

Over the next couple of months, you may notice these posters in your child’s classroom: 

Core Competency Posters or you may notice some light bulbs near our bulletin boards and displays of our students’ learning throughout the school.

Our plan is to highlight the big ideas that our students have been working on over the course of each term.  Teachers and staff will also be more explicitly Noticing, Naming and Nurturing the core competencies to help our students identify when and how they are using the core competencies and how the core competencies are a part of what we do daily. 

So, please feel free to take a closer look at the various displays of student learning shared throughout the school and see if you or your child can identify the light bulb and the big idea!
