Welcome and Introductions:

• Alaric welcomed all the parents to PAC meeting
• Introducing PAC positions for the year:

Adopt May 2022 Minutes & September 2022 Agenda by Amelia & Jessica

Financial Report for Last Year by Jon:

• Raised $12000 from food days (most from pizza days - about $10000) 
• Fundraising for outdoor ed and graduation class
• $28,000 in general account with some outstanding expenses like classroom allocations ($2000) and we have a balance of $4400 in gaming account

Financial Report for this Year by Jon:

• Anticipation events: winter festival, dance classes
• Fundraiser events: bake sale, food days, gift card sale
• Set aside money for classroom allocation, teachers’ wish list, graduation ceremony, health education, any celebration events (winter, lunar year, staff appreciation) and also technology upgrades (sound systems, mics…)
• Boosting classroom allocation from $12 to $14 per student
• Boosting Music and Resource teacher allocation from $140 to $150 each
• Boosting Grad class support from $40 to $45 per student
• New $300 budget line item to help cover teacher special project
• Allocating $5000 to technology upgrades

Food days:

• Right now we have sushi, pizza, chicken, teriyaki, and Subway
• Testing Poke bowls from Westcoast Poke
• Testing smoothies from Purpose Smoothies.  Samples were provided for tonight’s meeting.
• We may include healthy smoothies and Poke bowls in the future
• We are still in discussion for more food days.  Planning that ensures staff are on board is an important step.
• We have Gr7 students helping with distributing lunches to each students 
• Food vendor policies to avoid chaos and keep school safe during lunch time.  Services from Uber/SkipTheDishes/DoorDash will be reviewed.
• Parents can drop off lunches again
• Fruit & Milk program coming back again this year

Gr.7 Outdoor Ed:

• 3 nights 4 Days Cheakamus Camp
• Outdoor Ed Committee carried over from last year

Spirit Wear:

• tshirt and hoodies and maybe sweatpants 
• Samples are available at the school for sizing
• Will be available soon

Mr. Daum’s Report:

• Welcome all the parents online and in person
• Discussed about class placements for students
• Health & Safety: managing community diseases, going through protocols for students to follow, stay home if your kids are sick
• 4 new staff: Education Assistant, Div7 teacher, School counselor, and Speech & Language teacher
• Meet the teacher & staff Night: Sept 22
• Oct 5 & 6 will have early dismissal at 1:45pm for teacher/parent conference 
• Make appointments if parents want to meet the teachers 
• First Pro D day on Sept 23
• September 29 is Orange shirt day & September 30 will be a holiday
• There will be changes coming in regards to report cards (no more letter grades); there will be more information about this next PAC meeting
