PAC Meeting Minutes - Dec 2020
- Meeting Began at 6:30pm
In attendance:
Mrs. Salewski, Alaric Wang, Jon Lau, Amelia Leung, Belle Leung, Jeta Hasimja Babalia, Cassie Chen, Min Yan Qiu, Natalie, Lea-Anne Domae, Skylar Zhao, Yaosen Yang, Vicki Zhang, Yanny Yeung, Mabel Kwok
Welcome and Introductions:
- Alaric welcomed all the parents to the meeting
- Alaric introduced the Jessie Wowk Website
Adopt October Minutes & December Agenda
Fundraisers:
- Mom’s Pantry Fundraiser:
- $1200 in sales - about $400 raised
- Come by 2-3pm on Dec 3 Thursday for pick up
- Outdoor Classroom Funding:
- $1,000 issued to the school for wood chips filled
- Gift Card Fundraisers:
- $10,000 in gift card sales so far
- Ends Monday Dec 7, 2020

- October: $600
- November: $3610
- Thermometer to show funds raised display in newsletter
Donation for Custodian Team:
- 3 custodians in total instead of one
- Parents can drop off money at the front of the school in the box
Grad Hoodies:
- $250 from PAC
- Brings down cost by about $5 each
- Mr. Wu & Mr. Angman gets hoodie for free
Classroom allocation funds:
- Maintain $12 per child
District Meeting attended by Yanny & Mabel:
- Extending transitional learning to Jan 31
- Holiday Break is not extended at the moment because it is up to Dr. B. Henry to decide
- Food Safety Course is available to one volunteer from each PAC. Certification is good for 5 yrs.
Financial Report by Jon:
- Government Gaming Grant of $4280 was received this year
Mrs. Salewski’s report:
- Transitional Families: Feb 1 is the next date to return to school, need to let school know by Jan 25
- School Events:
- Grade 6/7 spirit leaders, Hawlloween & Movember
- Volleyball practices with Mr. Tan Cohort A. Div 1 & 2
- Social Responsibility; taking care of self, others and this place
- School refresh/painting
- Upcoming:
- Reporting
- Option A: CSL
- Div 4, 5, and 7
- First summative report will be Feb 11
- Option B: My Ed
- First report sent home Dec 11

- Projects for this year:
- Mural with artist Ann Thorsteinssen
- Received Art Starts Grant of $7500
- Combined with PAC, school and district funds
- Will be done following Spring Break

- Library Renovation:
- Met with Chris Wilkins, Manager of Maintenance and Planning
- Reviewed plans and budget
- Will be done close to spring break (1 week before or after)
- LES Grant: $18,000-20,000
- School Account Technology: $2000
- School Account Capital Non Computer & Flooring: $5000
- Circulation Desk: Work order (hopefully district pays for it)
- Removable shelves: Work order (hopefully district pays for it)
- Furniture: about $5000 to $8000
