•Students learned different writing styles, including letter writing•They wrote letters to their Pen Pals at a different school, bridging connections while developing writing skills 

How did it support increasing engagement, deepening thinking, and developing comprehension?

•The opportunity to connect with students at a different school increased student engagement as they learned to make connections through questions and sharing•During writing lessons, students also developed more tools in adding descriptive language to bridge comprehension
